Yoi! Friday Is Myron Cope Day In Pittsburgh

The late, legendary PITTSBURGH sportscaster MYRON COPE will be honored with the declaration of FRIDAY (2/27) as MYRON COPE DAY by the city of PITTSBURGH and ESPN Sports WEAE-A (1250 ESPN)/PITTSBURGH. PITTSBURGH Mayor LUKE RAVENSTAHL will make the official proclamation on the air at 11:15a ET FRIDAY, and the station will broadcast interviews, stories, and clips about and with COPE all day.
COPE began his radio career on 1250 ESPN predecessor WTAE-A in 1968 and his talk show hosting career in 1973. He was color commentator for STEELERS games from 1970 through 2005, also creating the "Terrible Towel" wielded by fans at STEELER games.
