The dramatic downsizing of media entities was illustrated by the TOLEDO FREE PRESS, which profiled several members of local TV and radio stations who have been laid off.
Among those interviewed for the story was CUMULUS MEDIA Alternative former morning host KEVIN MURPHY, who declared, "I had a good conversation with my wife and my family and basically said, ‘I'm done with radio, because radio’s done with me, and I don't want to do it again." ... Sister Talk WTOD-A former on-air host TOM WATKINS blamed consolidation for the downsizing, which impacted 19 former staffers at the CUMULUS cluster, as well as 22 employees from the CLEAR CHANNEL/TOLEDO cluster.
