In the wake of OFCOM's recent decision to allow analog stations to change format within the first two years of operation, BAUER RADIO Talk CITY TALK 105.9/LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND has filed with the agency for permission to flip to a music format outside of morning and afternoon drive. The LIVERPOOL DAILY POST reports that the application warns that CITY TALK "may eventually need to close" if permission for music programming is not granted.
The POST quotes BAUER's Managing Dir. TRAVIS BARKER as saying, "We believe the proposed changes will keep a significant part of the original character of the station intact, while maintaining the current competitive dynamic in LIVERPOOL and increasing listener choice overall."
