'On Second Thought' ... Maybe Not

What's going on with ON SECOND THOUGHT LLC, the company that was formed to continue MIKE MALLOY and NANCY SKINNER's syndication after the collapse of NOVA M RADIO NETWORK? ALL ACCESS heard that the company's offices at KNUV-A/PHOENIX had been padlocked, and, sure enough, the PHOENIX NEW TIMES has a picture of the offices of KNUV with a padlock MONDAY afternoon.
But KNUV continued with programming anyway, airing "best of" shows for now. A note on the ON SECOND THOUGHT website reads, "Programming Note: The NANCY SKINNER and MIKE MALLOY shows are being re-engineered as a result of the transfer of the base of operations. It was our hope that the technical stuff was all worked out by airtime today, but as it turns out, re-configuring network shows required a bit more work. Today you’ll have 'Best of Shows' again. The good news is the shows will both be live TOMORROW. Sorry for the inconvenience and tune in TOMORROW. You know it’ll be great radio!" ALL ACCESS hears that the shows are arranging alternate satellite feeds to get to affiliates; SKINNER aired live WEDNESDAY afternoon.
At one of the show's largest affiliates, CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KKGN-A (GREEN 960)/SAN FRANCISCO, PD JOHN SCOTT writes on his blog that MALLOY is "scrambling to get on the air live TONIGHT, because his network is dead. NOVA M, his syndicator, melted down in the RANDI RHODES saga. An LLC called ON SECOND THOUGHT took over ... now THEY are dead." SCOTT says, "MALLOY is going to run his own show to self-syndicate. He will always have a home on the GREEN 960 lineup, as long as I have anything to say about it. He's so good, and his fans are not really fans; they are worshippers!"
