The surviving BEATLES, PAUL MCCARTNEY and RINGO STARR, will come together onstage for the first time in decades for a transcendental meditation benefit concert at NEW YORK's RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL on APRIL 4th. Proceeds from ticket sales to "PAUL MCCARTNEY and Friends: Change Begins Within" will go to the meditation-promoting DAVID LYNCH FOUNDATION, with the goal of teaching a million at-risk children to meditate, reports the NJ LEDGER.
"In moments of madness, it has helped me find moments of serenity," MCCARTNEY said in a statement. "I would like to think that it would help provide [children] a quiet haven in a not-so-quiet world."
Exactly what MCCARTNEY and STARR will perform has yet to be specified.. Other performers on the bill include SHERYL CROW, DONOVAN, EDDIE VEDDER, BEN HARPER, MOBY, PAUL HORN, BETTYE LAVETTE and JIM JAMES (of the band MY MORNING JACKET). Filmmaker DAVID LYNCH will serve as a presenter at the event, as will other celebrities including RUSSELL SIMMONS and LAURA DERN.
Tickets will be priced at $79.50 to $504.50.
