An unlicensed station in GRANITE FALLS, NC has been shut down by the FCC. The HICKORY RECORD reports that HOMEGROWN RADIO, which operated at 104.5 FM, closed on MONDAY after an agent from the Commission told PD EDDIE JOLLY to stop broadcasting or face a $10,000 fine.
JOLLY resisted being termed a "pirate," asking the RECORD, "How can a faith-based station be a pirate?" JOLLY said that he will return the station to the air with aid from investors and the "area faith community."
