A concert promoter in DULUTH is suing MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS AAA KDAL-F (95.7 THE BRIDGE)/DULUTH for causing the cancellation of a LUCINDA WILLIAMS concert because the station failed to play commercials promoting the event. SECRET SERVICE CONCERTS AND ENTERTAINMENT canceled the NOVEMBER show after the station inadvertently played the wrong spots, promoting a MASON JENNINGS concert instead of WILLIAMS.
The DULUTH NEWS TRIBUNE reports that MIDWEST Market Manager RON STONE says that the station offered the promoter make-goods plus 10 additional free spots and over 140 free promos. MIDWEST is countersign for payment of $1,856.93 for spots aired in APRIL, MAY, OCTOBER and NOVEMBER of last year, and the NEWS TRIBUNE reports that Judge MARK MUNGER has hinted skepticism that the non-airing of 10 spots would be responsible for slow ticket sales.
