U2 may move in mysterious ways. but TOMORROW night’s top-secret HUB concert has generated a bevy of buzz that’s been a big boost to BOSTON radio stations, writes THE BOSTON HERALD. "It’s been a huge boon," said GREATER MEDIA Alternative WBOS/BOSTON PF KEN WEST. "It’s very energizing for radio."
"They’re probably about the biggest band in the world in terms of longevity," WEST added. "And for them to do something this accessible for the fans through the radio stations is great."
U2 aficionados can’t get tickets at the door -- the location remains unknown although there’s speculation it’s the SOMERVILLE THEATRE -- but BOSTON radio stations were giving away tickets last week.
CBS Alternative WBCN and Classic Rock WZLX/BOSTON PD MIKE THOMAS said ‘BCN was the first radio station in AMERICA to play U2. "CARTER ALAN was the guy who first put a U2 song on WBCN," he said. "There’s such a buzz about this and the fact that they’re coming back and playing a club for the first time since the early '80s. Everybody’s going to want to hear what this is all about."
