SKYLINE BROADCASTERS Talk KGEZ-A (Z-600, THE EDGE)/KALISPELL owner/host JOHN STOKES has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for himself and his companies SKYLINE and Z-600 INC., according to the DAILY INTER LAKE.
STOKES has been embroiled in disputes with neighboring business owners arising from STOKES' battle over easement rights and ownership of STOKES' transmitter site. In 2007, STOKES was hit with a defamation judgement for saying on the air that RV dealership and auction barn owner DAVAR GARDNER and his son TODD GARDNER lied under oath and submitted a false affidavit during previous litigation with STOKES, and obtained a bank loan using fraud. STOKES is appealing the judgement.
TODD GARDNER told the paper, "We were expecting (the filing). It's another step in his legal maneuvers."
