ED SCHULTZ' guest hosting stint on MSNBC's "1600 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE" this TUESDAY, has set off rumors that he may be the next liberal media personality to join the network full-time. The NEW YORK OBSERVER's FELIX GILLETTE reports that staffers at the cable network are gossiping that SCHULTZ, who is a frequent guest on other MSNBC shows, may be next in line behind KEITH OLBERMANN, CHRIS MATTHEWS, RACHEL MADDOW and DAVID GREGORY to join the network's prime-time lineup.
The network's official word is noncommittal. "ED is a regular on 1600," MSNBC spokesperson JEREMY GAINES told the OBSERVER. "He’s filling in for DAVID tonight, while DAVID fills in for KEITH. It’s as simple as that."
