Federal Budget Includes Spectrum Fee

The OBAMA Administration's proposed federal budget includes a provision for a spectrum license user fee.
The fee, which has been the source of controversy, is proposed on Table S-6 of the budget, showing it as one of several new user fees to reduce the deficit, including fees for agriculture, a fee to replace the inland waterways fuel tax, a pesticide fee, and user fees for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
The spectrum fee is not referenced in the budget for the DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, and no amounts or details are provided for how the tax would be levied by the FCC or how much would be charged.
