CURB/NASHVILLE artist JO DEE MESSINA, celebrity spokesperson for NASHVILLE EARTH HOUR 2009, has announced that she will be participating in the MUSIC CITY event on MARCH 28th at 8:30p (CT). EARTH HOUR encourages people to turn off non-essential lights in their homes for one hour.
JO DEE is taking it one step further, announcing that she will also be darkening her official website, www.jodeemessina.com, for 24 hours. When fans log on to the site, they will see a brief sentence about her participation in the event, and they will also hear her new single, "Shine," played continuously throughout the day.
MESSINA said: "When it comes to the environment, we all play a part, and it's up to all of us to take action. That's why EARTH HOUR is such a great campaign. It lets something as simple as flicking a light switch become so much more. EARTH HOUR reminds everyone that if we all put in a little effort, we can achieve big results."
