COX RADIO has flipped Contemporary Christian KKCM (THE NEW SPIRIT 102.3)/TULSA to a simulcast of sister Talk KRMG-A. The SPIRIT format will continue online at spirit1023.com.
"TULSA has a rich heritage in news/talk radio," said VP/Market Mgr. DAN LAWRIE. "During times like these, Tulsans are hungry for the latest news and information and adding KRMG to the FM dial will allow more of our community to conveniently access breaking news, up to the minute weather and traffic, and America’s leading talk radio hosts."
On KKCM's old format, LAWRIE said, "While the format was popular, the changes in the economy are forcing us, like so many other companies, to explore new ways of meeting the needs of our listening audience while maintaining a focus on solid business operations. The decision to simulcast our 24-hour news/talk format will offer valuable talk radio content to a wider listening audience, while affording us the opportunity to continue our role as a local employer and a strong community leader.... We want to thank our loyal SPIRIT 102.3 FM listeners for three great years on the air, and we hope many of you will continue to listen to the station at www.spirit1023.com while at home or at work."
KRMG OM/PD DREW ANDERSSEN added, "The news and talk programming Tulsans love can now be heard loud and clear on the FM band, in addition to its original home on 740 AM, and streaming live 24/7 at www.krmg.com. All over TULSA and surrounding communities, day or night, you’ll be able to hear us crisp and clear."
