RAB2009 kicked off YESTERDAY (3/16) in ORLANDO, and continued TODAY with keynoter ANDY STEFANOVICH, a nationally-known business proven consultant, as the second day of workshops and sessions begins. Attendees are participating in interactive programming around media advertising, digital and sales & management issues facing the Radio industry.
After hearing from STEFANOVICH at the opening ceremony, attendees will gather for an interactive working lunch session with him and his team from PLAY, an innovation consultancy company. All conference-goers will participate in business exercises to develop new ways of approaching Radio sales and management. They will explore the current challenges -- recruitment and retention of great people, changing perceptions of Radio at the agency level, identifying online/mobile/digital opportunities, and shifting from being transactional to being results driven.
Innovation requires being slightly disruptive. During our workshop we are going to behave differently, so we can think differently.
"Innovation requires being slightly disruptive. During our workshop we are going to behave differently, so we can think differently. We will use a tested, disruptive creative process to harness the collective brainpower of the largest gathering of dedicated radio professionals from across the industry," stated STEFANOVICH. "Our goal is a large volume of ideas that stretch our thinking and deliver new solutions. The tools we use are simple, powerful and easy for participants to take back home to their teams."
RAB2009 attendees are discovering the latest in digital sales and getting in on the latest in innovative technology from mobile initiatives to streaming audio. This year's conference takes the opportunity to continue changing the perception of Radio.
"With a new set of challenges including the current economic climate and a broadening media landscape, we built this year's program with new approaches to training, educating and inspiring attendees," noted RAB Pres./CEO JEFF HALEY. "We are bringing attendees a high-energy and diverse working conference with national advertisers, members of the creative community, and leading sales experts."
