The family of slain ABC NEWS RADIO news anchor GEORGE WEBER issued a statement TUESDAY about their loss. The statement read:
"We are devastated by the loss of GEORGE (JORDY to us). He was a truly caring person who loved and was loved by all he met. The outpouring of support by his friends and neighbors is a blessing to us and a testimony to his character.
"JORDY loved NEW YORK and its people, particularly his CARROLL GARDENS neighborhood. His passion for radio journalism was evident from his early years and only grew the longer he worked.
"We deeply appreciate the tireless efforts by the NEW YORK police to find JORDY's murderer and bring justice to our family, particularly the detectives on this case. We ask anyone with information to assist this effort by calling 1-800-577-TIPS.
"In this time of unimaginable personal grief, we request that our privacy be respected while we mourn our son, brother, and uncle. We are grateful for the inquires we have received regarding cards and flowers and ask that correspondence be addressed to GEORGE WEBER c/o 125 West End Ave, NY, NY 10023. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one of GEORGE's preferred charities: THE NORTH SHORE ANIMAL LEAGUE, 25 Davis Ave., PORT WASHINGTON, NY 11050.
Memorial services are pending."
