CTV GLOBEMEDIA Country CKQM (COUNTRY 105)/PETERBOROUGH, ON has received CRTC approval to decrease power from 50,000 to 7,500 watts while tripling the effective antenna height from 91.5 to 277.5 meters and moving the antenna location. The move is being made to allow the move of sister CKRU-A to FM at 100.5 MHz.
In addition, PINERIDGE BROADCASTING INC. is proposing its own change in PETERBOROUGH, proposing to move its new FM there closer to PETERBOROUGH proper by reducing power from 13,000 to 2,100 watts and increasing height from 150 to 233 meters.
The CRTC also received CTV GLOBEMEDIA and HARVARD BROADCASTING's response to its requirement that each find an alternative frequency to 107.1 FM for their new stations in EDMONTON, and both selected 95.7 FM. The agency will make the call as to the resolution of the mutually-exclusive applications.
