PREMIERE RADIO NETWORKS and FOX NEWS CHANNEL's GLENN BECK got the big profile treatment from the NEW YORK TIMES on SUNDAY, with BECK, termed "FOX NEWS' Mad, Apocalyptic, Tearful Rising Star" in the article's headline, called "suddenly one of the most powerful media voices for the nation’s conservative populist anger."
The article, written by BILL CARTER and BRIAN STELTER, highlights BECK's instant ratings success and penchant for drama and doomsday scenarios, and quotes BECK as calling himself an entertainer, "a rodeo clown ... it takes great skill." BECK tells the TIMES that he identified with the HOWARD BEALE character ("I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!") in the movie "NETWORK," and warned, "I say on the air all time, 'If you take what I say as gospel, you’re an idiot.'"
