ASTRAL MEDIA's radio stations across CANADA will air a one-day radiothon on APRIL 30th to raise funds for 15 children's hospitals and health care facilities; 50 stations in 28 cities will participate in the fundraising efforts.
"We have an extensive network of radio stations in CANADA and we have always been very involved and supportive of the local communities in the cities where we operate. Organizing this radiothon gives us the opportunity to optimize our national reach for the benefit of sick kids across the country," said ASTRAL MEDIA RADIO AND OUTDOOR Group Pres. JACQUES PARISIEN. "The capacity of radio to reach people in a real and immediate way is very powerful, so it works very well for fundraising. In the past we have had significant success in hosting radiothons in the majority of our markets and this year we have increased the number of stations involved and the hospitals that benefit. Our people invest a lot of time and energy into making this a successful event and we do so because we really believe in doing what we can in the communities where we live and work."
Reportedly, 53 of the company's 82 radio stations and 11 of its 20 TV stations will air a one-month promotional campaign for the radiothon starting APRIL 1st. Some of the stations will be working CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK on the radiothon.
