EL DORADO BROADCASTERS Talk KBLU-A/YUMA pulled a fast one on listeners for APRIL FOOL'S DAY, with morning sports talker COLE ST. CLAIRE and OM CHUCK GEIGER "reporting" that the NFC champion ARIZONA CARDINALS were moving to LOS ANGELES.
The story claimed that the BIDWILL family had sold the team to a consortium led by STEVEN SPIELBERG, GEORGE LUCAS, and, of all people, CHARLIE SHEEN, and would play in the COLISEUM until a new stadium was built in POMONA or PALMDALE. The ruse drew a solid hour of calls before the hoax was disclosed.
