As previously rumored, GLOBAL RADIO has sold its majority interest in the DIGITAL ONE national U.K. digital radio multiplex to its minority partner ARQIVA in a deal that swaps GLOBAL's 63% interest for a nominal fee and a reduction in lease fees for GLOBAL's stations in the digital package. GLOBAL stations will also continue to be heard on ARQIVA's local digital multiplexes, operated by NOW DIGITAL.
The GUARDIAN reports that GLOBAL is also negotiating exclusively with BAUER MEDIA to sell BAUER five MIDLANDS stations it is spinning off as a condition of its purchase of GCAP MEDIA.
