SVC ENTERTAINMENT group RIVER COUNTY's lead guitarist/background vocalist CHRIS PRESLEY successfully assisted flight attendants with a medical emergency during their SOUTHWEST AIRLINES flight on SATURDAY (4/4).
The group was on a flight from LAS VEGAS to INDIANAPOLIS, when an 80-year-old woman who had been suffering from the flu, suddenly became unresponsive. After her blood pressure rose to severe levels and her nose began to bleed, the flight staff announced they needed assistance from any passengers with medical training.
PRESLEY is a former EMT and firefighter, so he stepped in to help along with a registered neo-natal nurse. The two made use of the limited medical supplies on board to gauge her blood pressure and heart rate, and they were also able to stop her nosebleed. Once her blood pressure was stablized, CHRIS remained by her side to monitor her vital signs throughout the remainder of the flight.
After the plane arrived safely in INDIANAPOLIS, the WAYNE TOWNSHIP FIRE DEPARTMENT stepped in to relieve CHRIS and thanked him for his efforts. The elderly woman promised to attend one of their upcoming shows at the INDIANA LIVE! CASINO in SHELBYVILLE, IN this FRIDAY (4/10) and SATURDAY (4/11) to demonstrate her support and offer her thanks publicly.
