GOOD FRIDAY, APRIL 10th turned about to get off to quite a rough start in MUSIC CITY as heavy storms, laced with several tornados rumbled through NASHVILLE. At least one tornado was reported to have touched down in SPRING HILL, which is about 20 miles south of the city and one in MURFREESBORO, TN as well.
CLEAR CHANNEL/NASHVILLE News/Talk WLAC-A carried 'live' coverage and advisories and up-to-date traffic all morning and midday, with sister stations Classic Rock WNRQ, Top 40 WRVW and Urban WUBT all simulcasting. Country WSIX (THE BIG 98) supplied their own coverage.
CUMULUS News/Talk WWTN appears to have suffered some transmitter damage from the storms and temporarily was simulcasting with Sports WNFN.
WLAC-A and WWTN continue to run traffic and storm updates on their websites- www.wlac.com and www.997wtn.com.
And finally, in the heat of the battle, ALL ACCESS Columnist JIMMY CARTER (RUMBLES FROM THE ROW), was heard doing storm updates on WSMV-TV 4.
