April 22, 2009 at 4:29 PM (PT)
TAYLOR HANSON, the middle brother of the rock trio HANSON, spoke to CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40/Mainstream WHTZ (Z100)/NEW YORK air personality BILLY THE KIDD about how he deals with touring as part of the new supergroup TINTED WINDOWS, while leaving his wife and four kids at home.
TINTED WINDOWS is a power-pop group that also includes former SMASHING PUMPKIN guitarist JAMES IHA, ADAM SCHLESINGER of FOUNTAINS OF WAYNE and drummer BUN E. CARLOS of CHEAP TRICK. The group already appeared on the LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN and is scheduled to be on LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON on THURSDAY. They'll also open for NO DOUBT at BAMBOOZLE on MAY 3rd.
"First of all, you have an amazing wife, and she gets it and handles all the craziness, he told BILLY THE KIDD. "And you just try to make the time you got really cool. When you're there, you're totally present, and you just bounce back and forth ... At least I'm not in the military with people shooting at me. I have friends who are in IRAQ," he said. "At least when we're gone, I'm in a hotel room."
