Music Producers Sue Tallgrass Broadcasting

TALLGRASS BROADCASTING Gospel KIND-A and Hot AC KIND-F/INDPENDENCE, KS are being sued by a group of music producers for copyright infringement. The music producers represent artists such as VAN HALEN, THE BELLAMY BROTHERS, MARY CHAPIN CARPENTER, HUEY LEWIS, PRINCE and BRAD PAISLEY, are asking damages ranging from $750 to $150,000 for each of the alleged 14 copyright violations.
The lawsuit, filed on APRIL 15th in U.S. District Court in KANSAS CITY, alleges that TALLGRASS BROADCASTING "willfully infringed the copyright" of artists’ music on 14 different occasions on July 15th and 16th, 2008.
