No Changes At The Opry Under New Shareholders

The TENNESSEAN is reporting today (5/7) that the GRAND OLE OPRY will be "safe," as the new major shareholders at GAYLORD ENTERTAINMENT take their seats on the Board of Directors.
ROBERT ROWLING and TRT HOLDINGS, INC. bought 14.9% of GAYLORD's stock last year and engineered a deal for two seats on the board. ROWLING says he is a "huge Country music fan" and doesn't intend to tamper with the OPRY.
GAYLORD Chairman and Chief Executive COLIN V. REED pointed out in the board meeting today (5/7) that in spite of the bad economy, "the OPRY had a decent year in 2008."
