An e-mail from the Chairman and Acting CEO of MACQUARIE RADIO NETWORK to the staff of Talk 2GB/SYDNEY has staff worried for their jobs with the market-leading station, reports the DAILY TELEGRAPH.
RUSSELL TATE, in an e-mail intended to address a news report that three hosts, PHILIP CLARK, BRIAN WILSHIRE, and DAVID OLDFIELD, were facing layoffs despite strong ratings, told staff, "As you are aware our entire program lineup, outside of breakfast, morning, afternoon and drive has been the subject of a full review ... no decisions have been finalised and I would not expect them to be for a week or so. When they are finalised you will hear about them from (PD) IAN HOLLAND and me before you read about them."
The non-denial caught staffers off-guard, with a staffer telling the TELEGRAPH, "So until the review is completed next week, PHIL, BRIAN and DAVID and their eight production staff are 'dead men walking.'"
