FCC Adopts Fee Plan

The FCC has adopted its order for fiscal year 2009 regulatory fee collection, with an additional Notice of Proposed Rulemaking seeking comments on the methodology being proposed, which is essentially unchanged. Comments on the latter are due JUNE 4th and replies due JUNE 11th. The Commission is obligated to collect $341,875,000 in regulatory fees for the year; the order adopts proposals agreed to last AUGUST (including elimination of fees for some underutilized categories).
Revenue expected to be generated by the fees includes $248,625 from Class A AMs, $2,977,300 from Class B AMs, $1,055,250 from Class C AMs, and $3,515,750 from Class D AMs; $7,384,125 from FM classes A, B1, and C3 and $9,076,725 from FM classes B, C, C0, C1, and C2; and $43,200 from AM construction permits and $204,750 from FM construction permits.
