Earlier this month, UNIVERSAL RECORDS SOUTH artist PHIL VASSAR got an unexpected phone call from CLEAR CHANNEL Country WCOL/COLUMBUS PD JOHN CRENSHAW, who asked PHIL to fill in for LYRIC STREET's RASCAL FLATTS at the MAKE-A-WISH BIG event in COLUMBUS, OH.
RASCAL FLATTS had to cancel their appearance at the last minute, after lead singer GARY LeVOX suddenly fell ill.
VASSAR quickly hopped a plane and was able to make the gig on time. More than $840,000 was raised at the event for the MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION. For more on this story, click here and here.
