Talker Cut Adrift -- Again -- With WAMO Sale

SHERIDAN BROADCASTING's sale of Urban WAMO-FM, Urban AC WAMO-A and Gospel WPGR-A to ST. JOSEPH MISSIONS for $8.9 million (NET NEWS, 5/15) has displaced talker LYNN CULLEN, who had just returned to the air on WAMO-A MARCH 1st after exiting crosstown RENDA Talk WPTT-A when that station went to a Business format.
The PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE's ADRIAN MCCOY reports that liberal talker CULLEN is considering retiring from radio with the loss of her second outlet in the last few months. "It's getting absurd with me," CULLEN noted. "Now you see her. Now you don't."
The sale also will deprive SHERIDAN's AMERICAN URBAN RADIO NETWORKS host BEV SMITH of her local affiliate, although she will remain in syndication nationwide.
