A 'Buzz' Comes To Sacramento

ALL ACCESS first tipped you YESTERDAY to the "goodbye" posted on ENTERCOM Alternative KWOD/SACRAMENTO's website (NET NEWS 5/21).
TODAY (5/22), at 9a (PT) on the nose, a promo featuring SHERYL CROW, HEAVY D and many other non-traditional KWOD artists, after which the station kicked into D.J. JAZZY JEFF AND THE FRESH PRINCE's "Summertime." MADONNA's "Ray Of Light," FOO FIGHTERS "Learn To Fly," INI KAMOZE "Here Comes The Hotstepper" and R.E.M. "Everybody Hurts" completing the first five songs.
"The station will feature prominent '90s artists as NIRVANA, TLC, PEARL JAM and GREEN DAY," said KCRA-TV.
ENTERCOM/SACRAMENTO VP/Market Manager JOHN GEARY may have tipped the new positioner yesterday, when he said,."THE BUZZ evokes memories and excitement, and it isn’t afraid to have a little fun with music and events that made their marks on AMERICA and history."
The '90s station known as "106.5 THE BUZZ" is being programmed by DAN MASON, who also retains PD duties of sister Top 40 KZND (THE END). KWOD MD ANDY HAWK stays on-board. CURTISS JOHNSON will now focus on his Station Mgr./PD duties of Classic Rock KSEG.
