LOS ANGELES DODGERS baseball finally finds another full-time LAS VEGAS radio home, as BEASLEY's KBET-A/LAS VEGAS inks a two-year deal to carry the Blue Crew as part of a flip from Classic Country to Sports. The LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL reports that the station will air FRIDAY's game as a "test run" before formally joining the network on MONDAY.
Crosstown CBS RADIO Sports KSFN-A dropped the DODGERS when it flipped to Children's Music earlier this year, and BEASLEY Sports KWWN-A (ESPN RADIO 1100) had been carrying one game a week before KBET stepped in.
KBET is transitioning from Classic Country to Sports over the coming months, launching a daily talk show, "SERIOUS SPORTS TALK," with PAT "CARMINE" CASALE and JIMMY TUMA, for 9:30-11:30a weekdays starting last TUESDAY. "We're looking at about a 60-day process to see what we want to add to the station," said Market Manager TOM HUMM. "As we continue to transition to all sports over the next 30 to 60 days, we'll continue to play Country music in between our sports programming."
