Reporter Ken Dermota Dies

Condolences to family and friends of longtime radio and print reporter KEN DERMOTA, who died MAY 11th of cancer in WASHINGTON, DC, according to the WASHINGTON POST.
DERMOTA, a specialist in reporting on LATIN AMERICA, filed reports for NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO and NBC RADIO as well as writing freelance for the BOSTON GLOBE, the TORONTO GLOBE AND MAIL, BUSINESS WEEK, the CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR, LE MONDE, AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE, ATLANTIC MONTHLY, and others. He also hosted jazz and news shows in COLOMBIA, where he also served as President of the FOREIGN PRESS ASSOCIATION in BOGOTA. His reporting career followed ten years as an organizer for the INTERNATIONAL LADIES' GARMENT WORKERS' UNION.
