DETROIT RED WINGS fans traditionally pack an octopus with them when going to JOE LOUIS ARENA for the STANLEY CUP playoffs to fling onto the ice to bring the WINGS luck, but in PITTSBURGH, ESPN Sports WEAE-A (1250 ESPN) hosts STAN SAVRAN and GUY JUNKER served octopus -- marinated and grilled -- to PENGUINS fans as preparation for game 3 of the finals against DETROIT. The "delicacy" was served up at the ORIGINAL FISH MARKET downtown, with the restaurant's executive chef SEAN DAVIES showing how to cook octopus in case anyone wants to try it at home.
The PENGUINS take on the WINGS at MELLON ARENA TONIGHT in game 3, down 2-0.
