SACRAMENTO move-in CLEAR CHANNEL KHJQ has launched as "Classic 93.1." The station is the sixth in the company’s local radio cluster and features classic hits from the '70s and '80s from artists like BILLY JOEL, ELTON JOHN, SUPERTRAMP and ELO.
"After several days of 'testing' some of the newest digital technology in SACRAMENTO radio to deliver the best quality audio available, having some fun giving the listening audience something to talk about and our competition something to worry about, SACRAMENTO's newest radio frequency has now settled on its intended format," said Market Manager JEFF HOLDEN. "CLASSIC 93.1 is going to be a favorite for those of us who were in high school in the late '70s and early '80s. It's been one long gestation period from our announcement of the acquisition over two years ago but we've finally birthed SACRAMENTO's newest media baby and she's a beauty!"
"We've cracked the code and unlocked the vault," said OM ALAN EISENSON. "We've uncovered the biggest variety of the best hits of the '70s and '80s. CLASSIC 93.1 will take you on a journey you can't take any other way. Sing along with us. It will be the most fun you'll have all day."
ALL ACCESS believes CLASSIC 93.1 is using PREMIUM CHOICE as the logs are almost identical to that of CLEAR CHANNEL sisters KLOU/ST. LOUIS and WRIT/MILWAUKEE.
