'Homecast Show' Helps The Laid-Off
June 5, 2009 at 2:21 PM (PT)
The Internet radio show, "The Homecast Show: The Upside To Down Times" is devoting an hour to give unemployed radio folk a chance to get work. From 10-11a each day, they'll broadcast " New Job In :60," where listeners record their own "audio cover letter," advertising themselves to listeners and prospective employers. Listeners also receive a copy of their audio file for their personal job search.
The Homecast Show is hosted by LIZ FULTON (formerly of KIIS' "RICK DEES In The Morning") DANNY LEMOS (of KKJZ-88.1 FM/KIIS-FM) TOM MURPHY, (KRLA, KIIS-A/F, KFI) and JEFF KAUFMAN (KFWB, KCAL News, "Entertainment Tonight") from four locations statewide; LONG BEACH, HOLLYWOOD, MCKINLEYVILLE, CA, and Granada HILLS. Connected by SKYPE, the four former broadcasters, themselves having been downsized out of terrestrial radio, have turned their daily Internet radio show over to those like themselves who need employment.
