The COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION (CMA) has confirmed that the overall attendance at this year's CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL was up 7.2% from last year. Each day averaged about 56,000 people for the entire event, including the nighttime shows at LP FIELD and the RIVERFRONT performances.
CMA CEO TAMMY GENOVESE said: "I've never once said we were going to be up, but we're up. We are 3% down in four-day ticket sales, but we are 19.5% up in single-day ticket sales, which means that our community here in NASHVILLE is getting on board. Our community is supporting us, and they're coming out."
When the final counts were tallied SUNDAY night (6/14), there was a slight 3.6% drop in four-day ticket sales this year. Four-day tickets for the 2010 festival went on sale on SATURDAY (6/13), and those are already up 4.3% over last year.
