BLACK RIVER MUSIC GROUP/NASHVILLE President JIMMY NICHOLS has announced the promotion of two key staffers. VP/Promotion RICK BAUMGARTNER has been promoted to VP/General Manager for the label, and National Director of Promotion JIM DORMAN is upped to VP/National Promotion.
“I think a lot of RICK's experience at the label had never been truly utilized,” says NICHOLS. “We wanted to give RICK the latitude to show what he’s capable of and he’s risen to the occasion. He’s a key player and I’m grateful to have him at BRMG. But to be honest, I have always liked DORMAN best.”
DORMAN joined the BLACK RIVER MUSIC GROUP in 2008: "JIM is deserving of this promotion,” stated BAUMGARTNER. “He has achieved tremendous success as a regional and National Promo Dir. He now gets the chance to make his mark as a Vice President. This is an exciting time at BRMG. And to be honest, JIMMY has always liked DORMAN best."
Prior to joining BRMG in JANUARY 2008, BAUMGARTNER held many positions in the music industry including recent stops at DOLLY PARTON MANAGEMENT, BROKEN BOW RECORDS, EQUITY MUSIC GROUP, WARNER BROS, ATLANTIC and DECCA.
DORMAN has been on both the records and radio side in his career including many years at SONY/NASHVILLE as Southeast Regional Director and stops at WARNER BROS and COUNTRY THUNDER. He was on the radio side as PD of CLEAR CHANNEL Country KTOM/MONTEREY and CITADEL Country WSJR/WILKES BARRE.
