The first ever "Guitars of the Stars Benefit Auction,' held outside the RYMAN AUDITORIUM in NASHVILLE on FRIDAY, JUNE 12th raised $40,000 for the OPRY TRUST FUND, which has for more than 40 years assisted members of the country music community in need.
Country artist and GRAND OLE OPRY member STEVE WARINER kicked off the event with a tid-bit from his upcoming tribute album to CHET ATKINS. A couple of items that brought in big money were a 'guitar of many colors,' contributed by DOLLY PARTON, which went for $9,000 and a guitar designed by CARRIE UNDERWOOD, which brought in $9,000.
