FCC Cancels Texas License

The FCC has revoked the license of KBKH/SHAMROCK, TX after the felony conviction of licensee TERRY KEITH HAMMOND. HAMMOND's application for renewal was dismissed with prejudice by an Administrative Law Judge for failure to file a written notice of appearance for a hearing; the Media Bureau terminated the station's license and deleted the call letters.
HAMMOND was convicted in 2004 of a felony for altering and depositing checks into his personal account in 2002, before his acquisition of KBKH, that had been written to the station. The Commission also noted that HAMMOND had been involved in pirate stations in three states before buying KBKH.
