WAMU Apologizes For Accidental F-Bomb Airing
June 23, 2009 at 5:08 AM (PT)
AMERICAN UNIVERSITY noncommercial Talk WAMU/WASHINGTON apologized to listeners for "technical difficulties" that resulted in the "f-bomb" airing on the station.
DCRTV.COM reports that the station aired apologies at least twice for the incident, which was explained to the website by spokeswoman KAY SUMMERS as "human error that resulted in an off-air conversation being picked up by a live mic while 'BOB EDWARDS WEEKEND' was on-air. MATT BUSH was the local host who gave the apology. The matter has been dealt with internally through discussions with those involved. Not our finest hour, to be sure, but mistakes happen."
