Star 105.1 Pays A Listener $1,000

MIDWEST FAMILY Classic Hits KOSP (STAR 105.1)/SPRINGFIELD, MO's "No-Repeat Workday Guarantee" paid off big for ALBERT SHELTON, when he caught the station breaking its promise not to repeat any song between 9a and 5p MONDAY through FRIDAY.
OM MARY FLEENOR told ALL ACCESS, "He was the first caller to report the repeat airing of KC & THE SUNSHINE BAND’s 'That’s The Way' and that call earned him $1,000!"
According to STAR 105.1 GM RICK MCCOY, "We made a promise to our listeners, and we broke it. It’s as simple as that. I’ve suspended the guilty party (afternoon talent SCOTT GARRETT) for a day, and I’ve paid off on the Guarantee. We’re asking listeners to give us a chance to redeem ourselves and keep our promise, so the Guarantee is still in effect. If someone else catches us repeating a song, I’ll just have to write another check."
