Country group LARRY GATLIN AND THE GATLIN BROTHERS recently signed a deal with CURB RECORDS/NASHVILLE and released "JOHNNY CASH Is Dead And His House Burned Down." The song idea came about when LARRY was having dinner with his son and talking about the changes in the music industry and LARRY said "The music business will never be the same… after all, Johnny Cash is dead and his house burned down."
The phrase became a song which led to dinner with label President MIKE CURB and a deal with CURB RECORDS. The story is about a lifelong friendship between the GATLIN's and CASH and how the leadership and influence of the MAN IN BLACK led the brothers to become the group they are today.
