Kudos to MERCURY's RANDY ROGERS BAND for helping raise $52,049 for CAMP SWEENEY at their inaugural FOR THE SAKE OF THE SHOT GOLF TOURNAMENT. The event took place at the BANDIT GOLF CLUB in NEW BRAUNFELS, TX on JUNE 12th.
RANDY ROGERS BAND, WADE BOWEN, KYLE PARK and RYAN BEAVER hit the links for a four-man scramble, and a concert and silent auction were also held. An EPIPHONE DR 100 guitar signed by GEORGE STRAIT was a hot item at the auction, going for $1,200.
ROGERS said: “I can’t say thank you enough to all the great folks who helped out our cause this year. It was our first attempt at getting everyone together to raise money for something we believe in. Our band had played other benefits thorough the years but this was our first true RRB event. We are proud that we could help CAMP SWEENEY. More importantly, the kids that will spend their summers there learning about diabetes and how to handle it day to day.”
The band and their team are already looking forward to next year's tournament. Details will be announced in the coming months at www.randyrogersband.com.
