Health Care Bill Won't Strip Tax Break (For Now)

The health care bill making its way through the House has been introduced without a controversial provision that would have stripped away the present tax deduction for prescription drug advertising by pharmaceutical companies.
The provision was intended to help fund the OBAMA administration's proposed health care program, but was excluded after heavy lobbying by the AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF ADVERTISING AGENCIES.
The tax law change can be added later as an amendment to the final bill.
