Former CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WTKS-F (REAL RADIO 104.1)/ORLANDO midday host SHANNON BURKE has obtained court permission to go to marriage counseling, although the protective order keeping him from seeing his wife in all other situations remains in effect.
The ORLANDO SENTINEL reports that Circuit Judge MARLENE ALVA, in the wake of BURKE's wife CATHERINE changing her account of the APRIL 30th incident in which BURKE allegedly shot the family dog in the leg and grazed his wife with the shot, declined to allow more expansive contact between the BURKES and would not order the removal of BURKE's tracking device but is allowing the counseling sessions. CATHERINE BURKE filed for divorce after the incident but now says that she wants to try and save the marriage.
BURKE is free on $25,000 in the case; his wife recently said that her initial characterization of the incident was wrong and that it was an accident, and told the court THURSDAY that her first account contained errors she blamed on pain medication, pressure from her family, and a blocked view of the incident.
