CTV GLOBEMEDIA Sports CKST-A (TEAM 1040)/VANCOUVER hosts DAVID PRATT and DON TAYLOR are back on the air TODAY but were off TUESDAY after an on-air spat over whether poker can be considered a sport.
The VANCOUVER SUN reports that on MONDAY's show, PRATT delivered an editorial comparing golfer TOM WATSON, just off his near-win at the BRITISH OPEN, and poker player DOYLE BRUNSON as competitors who are achieving despite advanced age. TAYLOR disagreed, and the conversation devolved into a shouting match and PRATT walking out of the studio. After a long commercial break and a replay of a previous interview, PRATT returned to finish the show with no mention of the dispute. On TUESDAY, RICK BALL and MATT SEKERES filled in for PRATT and TAYLOR.
PD ROB GRAY told the SUN, "Similar to virtually all long-term business relationships with two people who are equally passionate about what they do, there are bound to be occasional disagreements. DAVE and DON are committed to moving forward with the show."
