The probe into MICHAEL JACKSON's death became a full-fledged manslaughter investigation YESTERDAY (7/22), as police and federal agents raided the HOUSTON office of the singer's doctor, CONRAD MURRAY. THE NEW YORK POST reports "the team of officers, including DEA agents and detectives from the LOS ANGELES and HOUSTON police departments, executed a search warrant at the ARMSTRONG MEDICAL CLINIC and hauled out a cache of documents and a copy of a computer hard drive.
"The search warrant authorized law enforcement to search for and seize items, including documents, they believed constituted evidence of the offense of manslaughter," attorney Ed Chernoff, representing CONRAD MURRAY, said in a statement. "Law enforcement concluded their search ... and left with a forensic image of a business computer hard drive and 21 documents. None of the documents taken had previously been requested by law enforcement or the L.A. coroner's office."
"The search of MURRAY's office computer core indicates authorities want to find e-mails either between the doctor and JACKSON or orders for drugs, said HARLAND BRAUN, a prominent LOS ANGELES defense attorney.
"The LAPD believes JACKSON may have been prescribed powerful drugs that led to his death, said author IAN HALPERIN, who has been in touch with LOS ANGELES police sources."
