More Goodwill From WLAN
July 23, 2009 at 4:48 AM (PT)
To follow up on last week's story concerning CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WLAN/LANCASTER and its efforts to assist a nearby GOODWILL location restock and repair following a devastating fire over the JULY 4 holiday, station PD JEFF HURLEY has reached out with this update.
"Our donation drive on FRIDAY with the EPHRATA GOODWILL was a huge success. Several times throughout the day we had traffic backed up out of the parking lot and up the highway. Even when the skies opened up and the rains came, it was still a packed house."
Congratulations to JEFF and his staff as the efforts resulted in THREE demountable 24-foot trucks filled to capacity with donations – the equivalent to filling one-and-one-half tractor trailers!
But it doesn't end there. CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO CEO JOHN HOGAN, along with the rest of the corporate staff, made a generous $1,000 donation, which will be presented live on the station's MORNING RUSH program in the coming weeks.
This donation drive will allow Goodwill to rebuild this store and continue providing jobs and services to needy people throughout our listening area.
HURLEY added, "What a great example of the power of local radio in our community. I couldn’t be prouder of the staff and our listeners for their help and generosity."
