AP Board OKs TV Rate Assessment Reductions, Not Radio
July 23, 2009 at 1:00 PM (PT)
The Board of Directors of the ASSOCIATED PRESS has approved rate assessment reductions for TV broadcasters, with basic text assessments down 10% and the total amount of rate reduction per station varying depending on the level of services received. Radio received its own cuts in a past reduction move.
The announcement came along with the AP's unveiling of its "news registry," which will tag and track AP content (initially, text) online to catch unauthorized use of its copyrighted content.
