Whitney Wows 'Em With Sneak Preview Of New CD

ARISTA/RCA superstar WHITNEY HOUSTON's new CD "I Look To You" -- which officially drops on 9/1 -- left a star-studded room full of music and entertainment heavies breathless last night (7/24) during a very classy event at the BEVERLY HILTON HOTEL in LOS ANGELES, hosted by SONY MUSIC Chief Creative Officer and mentor CLIVE DAVIS.

The room enthusiastically applauded the nine tracks played, including "Million Dollar Bill," which was written and produced by ALICIA KEYS; "Like I Never Left" written and produced by AKON, as well as two songs written and produced by R. KELLY -- the title track "I Look To You" and "Salute."

DAVIS apologized that many of the songs were "unfinished" -- but no one got the sense that they were anything short of perfect.

Following the songs, WHITNEY came onstage and wowed everyone with a warm "thank you" for the reception, paying kudos to DAVIS and to her many supporters and family, and acknowledged many of the many major names invited: STEVIE WONDER, BRIAN McKNIGHT, DIANE WARREN, PENNY MARSHALL, JANE FONDA and many others.

Other high-profile guests included HALLE BERRY, BARRY MANILOW, JANE FONDA, MAGIC JOHNSON, BEVERLY JOHNSON, JACKIE COLLINS, GARCELLE BEAUVAIS, BRETT RATNER, PLEASURE P, BC JEAN and JOEL DENVER; as well as album collaborators DAVID FOSTER, CLAUDE KELLY, JOHNTA AUSTIN and HARVEY MASON, JR., among others.

Notable entertainment industry heavyweights included NEIL PORTNOW, SUZANNE DE PASSE, RICKY MINOR, PETER LOPEZ, AMANDA BROOKS, WARREN BOYD, ARNOLD STEIFEL, GARRY KIEF, CLARENCE AVANT, BARBARA DAVIS, RANDY PHILLIPS, PATRICK WHITESELL, DAVE WIRTSCHAFTER and many more.
